TT15790-170: TAILOR TOYO Mid 1950s Style Acetate Souvenir Jacket [EAGLE × BLUE TIGER]

Tailor Toyo has been making sukajan jackets since the days of its predecessor, "Koshō," and its past products are now valued as "vintage."

This piece is a reproduction of a sukajan jacket originally made by Tailor Toyo in the 1990s, created in response to numerous customer requests, and brought back to life using current technology after approximately 30 years. The eagle embroidery, depicted in an orange gradient that stands out against the wine-colored body, is superb, and the multi-colored ribbing tightens the overall balance.

The reversible side features a "reverse color scheme" body with a darker silver and navy under the sleeves than the body, against which a fiercely roaring blue tiger stands out. Taking advantage of the characteristics of lustrous rayon thread, the embroidery is layered with intricately varied stitch lengths, creating a three-dimensional effect and shading that expresses the tiger's fur and stripes despite being a single color. As with the front side, four colorful ribs serve as an accent.

Acetate Souvenir Jacket

This is the most standard type of souvenir jacket, a reversible design using acetate fabric on both sides. Post-war Sukajan jackets used acetate, a material that was exempt from material controls and had a luxurious feel similar to silk. Because it has no padding, it can be worn in any season, and its unique drape is also an attractive feature.
