Warehouse flannel shirts are woven on old-fashioned power looms that remain in limited areas of Japan. The goal is not simply to create "flannel with selvedge," but to create a finish that preserves the natural texture of the uneven yarn. Unlike modern looms that weave with strong tension, the moderate tension unique to old-fashioned looms makes use of the unevenness of the yarn, creating a look that is just like vintage.

The pattern is made of a multicolored twill weave, and the reverse side is brushed, just like the original, to create a soft and fluffy texture. The unique texture created in this way is its greatest charm. The selvedge (edge) is proof of this, and is also used on the gusset, just like the vintage version.
